Thumbs Up
Online fights work on phones, the winner's name fits the screen, and the Gauntlet's enemies learn faster.
The notes
A small one, mostly for people on a phone, and for anyone who thought the Gauntlet’s enemies were slow learners.
Fixed
- Online fights on phones. The touch controls did nothing in Ranked, the Back Room and Home Turf: the buttons never lit up and your fighter stood still. They work now, the same as in the Gauntlet.
- The winner’s banner fits the screen. A long name used to run off both sides. The banner shrinks until it fits.
- Sound on phones. A bigger buffer and a lighter set of effects, and the game steps down by itself if the phone’s audio can’t keep up.
Changed
- The Gauntlet’s enemies learn on every wave. They pick up your habits sooner, and they now have an answer for a technical fighter instead of treating you like a brawler.
- A steadier style name. The label that says how the game reads you stops flipping between names from one run to the next.
- The menu tells you how you are read. Under the Gauntlet card, “They read you as…” names your style. Only you see it.
- The scouting slip on the home page uses the real move icons.
- The fight rules are now version 17.
