The Back Room
One lobby screen with tabs, named rooms for Ranked, the Back Room and Home Turf, names that are yours, and the fine print.
The notes
The menu becomes a lobby, and the modes get their names.
Added
- The lobby. One screen: the logo and tabs along the top, your wallet and a bell, your player card bottom left, and Play, Customise, Rank, Board and Settings open as panels beside Teo. On a phone held sideways it becomes an icon rail.
- The modes have names. Ranked, the Back Room, Home Turf, the Gauntlet and Sparring. The Story is now the Gauntlet, and Practice is Sparring.
- The Back Room. A private room: a code, a QR, a Share button, two teams (Team Teo and Team Severino), and a host who starts it.
- Home Turf. The same kind of room for friends in the same place. The host’s device runs the room, and the fight’s buttons travel across the room instead of across the internet.
- In-game names. Every account gets a name when it is made: your first name and your surname’s initial. You can change it once. It is the only name shown on the board and in rooms, and it is checked against a word list.
- A welcome email the first time you sign in, with the story’s opening.
- Privacy and Terms. The privacy policy and the terms of use, in plain words, on the site.
Changed
- Printed scrollbars. A halftone gutter and an ink slug, a hair off register, on the site and in the game.
- The game plays at impactframe.app. A copy from anywhere else shows a card pointing you home.
- Phones are sideways only. Held upright, the lobby asks you to turn your phone.
