Loud Rooms: release 2026.10.4 of IMPACT FRAME
2026.10.4

Loud Rooms

The sound is rebuilt, a full charge freezes the frame, ranks can go down, and you can close your account.

The notes

A day of making things louder, and then fairer.

Added

  • A new sound. Everything is made live: music that follows the fight, five menu pieces, voices, emote sounds and a room’s ambience, each voiced for what you are playing on.
  • Impact frames. A hit freezes the screen for as long as it weighs: more for a charge, a critical hit and the hit that finishes. A full charge inverts the frame, holds the camera on the contact and cuts the music, and then the word, the zoom blur and the shockwave land together. Reduce flashes turns the strobe off.
  • A gust. A full-charge punch or kick sends a wall of air ahead of the swing that pushes back and staggers anyone it passes, with no damage. Brutes only slide, and nobody is pushed off the roof.
  • Sparring, your way. Pick any number of waves from 1 to 99, or go Endless.
  • A profile picture. Your Google photo by default, or a generated mask, or just an initial.
  • A new board. Cached for ten minutes, with your picture beside your name.
  • Match notes. If a match ends early or a room closes, a note in your inbox says how and what the score was.
  • Close your account. It is closed at once, a sealed copy is kept for one year, and then it is erased.

Changed

  • Ranks go down. Rep is a balance kept on your account. A ranked win adds to it and a loss takes from it, never below zero, and the Rank tab names the step you would drop to.
  • You are always on the left. In Versus, your screen is mirrored if you start on the other side, and your bar and name sit on the left.
  • Hover tips. Hover a tab, the wallet, the bell, your player card, a mode or a piece of gear and a printed tip says what it is. Locked gear is greyed with a lock and says why.
  • Marks count up to a new balance, with a tick.
  • Full screen is required on phones, asked for in the tap to fight, and a sheet covers the game whenever it is not.
  • A denser menu on phones. Smaller panels, tighter rows, and the same menu at about 87% of its old scale.
  • The menu room is silent. The scene behind the lobby makes no sound; only the music plays.

Fixed

  • No mouse in a fight. A mouse click no longer fights for you.
