Open Door
Guests can spar, desktop plays in a window, quick match counts you in, Foil packs go on sale, and every rank gets its badge.
The notes
The door opens wider: you can try the game without an account, and the lobby tells you what it is doing.
Added
- Play as a guest. “Play Sparring as a guest” on the sign-in screen gets you five waves of Sparring without an account. Ranked, the Gauntlet and the rooms ask you to sign in, and the game makes no request to the server.
- Foil packs. A + on the Foil chip opens three packs. Pick one, pay at the checkout, and come back to find the Foil in your wallet. Four inks are bought with Foil only, and the Marks inks have a Foil price too.
- Rank badges everywhere. The board, room lists, the versus bar and the K.O. stamp show everyone’s rank as a badge, and Legend carries its stars.
- A music player. At the top left, under the logo: previous, the piece and what picked it, next, and a list with Auto. Your pick is kept, and changes cross-fade instead of cutting.
- Report a name. A flag on the board and in rooms reports a name that should not be there.
- A banned screen. An account that breaks the rules is told so on a screen of its own.
- Quick match counts you in. A clock and a sweeping bar while it looks, a card with one of eight lines when a fighter is found, then 3, 2, 1, FIGHT.
- Avatars on the health bars, and the name on a paper chip so it reads over any plate.
- Notes that follow you. A run that was checked and refused leaves a note on your account, so it is there on any device.
Changed
- Desktop plays in a window. Tap to fight no longer asks for full screen on a computer. Phones and tablets keep it.
- The screen stays on while you play, and in the menu until five minutes pass with no input.
- Sign-in is quicker. The steps that waited in a row now start together.
- Ranked search says what it is. “Finding a fighter” until there is one, then “Ranked match” or “Unranked match” and why.
- Sound stops when the game is out of sight and comes back when you return.
- The sign-in screen fits a phone held sideways.
Fixed
- Nobody waits on a dead line. A searcher who gave up no longer leaves a lobby that the next searcher waits in alone, and a line that died without a word is noticed.
- Ranked stalls. The lobby measures your line first, and the input delay follows it, so “Waiting on the line” no longer shows for nearly a whole match.
