Rogues' Gallery

Six new men wait past the ending, waves 17 to 27, and the end screen shows what they saw.

The notes

The Don has cousins. Once the ending is behind you, the Gauntlet keeps going, and a new kind of trouble steps in every other wave.

Added

  • Six new men. Each debuts with its own wave, its name and its rule under the banner, and from then on it is in the mix:
    • Edge Guard, wave 17: holds a platform’s edge in a hard hat and shoves you off it. Knock it off and it fights on the floor for a few seconds, then climbs back.
    • Runner, wave 19: comes in a pack of three, one hit each, and runs faster the more you back away.
    • Rallier, wave 21: the men near it are braver while it stands. Hit it or knock it down and they calm.
    • Bomber, wave 23: lobs a bottle that sets the ground alight.
    • Mimic, wave 25: throws your most-landed string back at you, slow and open after.
    • Counter, wave 27: parries the move your string leads to. Guess right and it ripostes. Guess wrong and it is wide open.
  • A scouting report. The end of a run lists the top three strings you landed, how often an enemy read each, and the strings the run began knowing. If a run started with one remembered, wave 1 says which.
  • Waves planned by the server. A shaped wave in a verified run is planned on the server and checked when the run is replayed, so a run cannot pretend it met something else.

Fixed

  • An enemy that fell far below the edge could float forever, so a wave never ended. It now jumps high enough to climb back.
